Festival of Light - our flagship event!
​Saturday November 23rd 2019

Thank you to all those who gave a great start to the Festive Season by supporting Walton's 2019 Festival of Light. Despite the rain, this all-day event in Walton, ending with the Festival of Light parade and the switching on of the Christmas lights, really did launch the Christmas Shopping season. We estimated that over 2000 people attended. It was so good to see local schools and community groups participating not only in the parade but also on stage.

Our Review of Festival of Light 2019
Let's start with a big thank you to all those who worked so hard to make such a great day:
  • our sponsors, their logos are on this webpage
  • our friends from Hi-Viz Hands who manned the road closures and Radio Wey who provided the sound system and managed the Heart Stage
  • all those who made lanterns, the bands and all the groups who participated in the parade
  • the school choirs, dance groups and community groups who performed on the Heart stage and in the High Street
  • the traders, ride operators and community groups who contributed to the High Street Market
  • those who presented a 'Giving Gift' to Santa in his grotto
  • The team from the Heart who worked tirelessly to keep the floor dry and assisted with security and crowd management
  • ​Elmbridge Borough Council's Street Cleaning Team who quickly restored normality to High Street on Sunday morning.
  • Wotta's organising committee and all the volunteers who contributed in so many ways. ​
