Wotta Great Heritage Day in Walton-on-Thames Saturday 21st September 2019
Thank you to all residents and visitors who enjoyed the sunshine and made Heritage Day 2019 such a great success. Thank you also to all volunteers and stall holders who helped create such community spirit. Our photographer was out and about all day to record activities in several locations.
St Marys Church At 11am, visitors started to explore St Mary's Church. One of the first was local MP (and Foreign Secretary) Rt. Hon. Dominic Raab MP. He was welcomed by Rev. Jonny Blair and Wotta Chairman Alan Palmer.
Bridge Street The road was closed from 8am and stallholders quickly set up their displays. This was the centre for entertainment as well as engaging with the community.
The Mayor of Elmbridge Cllr. Mary Sheldon and Local MP Rt. Hon. Dominic Rabb MP joined Sea Scouts in the opening ceremony..
Visitors to Bridge Street had plenty of entertainment provided by Radio Wey and Vision Puppets as well as roundabouts and an inflatable slide..
