Sponsorship Opportunities
Walton-on-Thames Trading Alliance CIC (WoTTA)
WoTTA is a non-profit Community Interest Company run by a Steering Committee of volunteers, including both traders and residents. Our aim is to make Walton a better place to live and work by; holding and promoting community events, building a database of local volunteers who are as engaged and as motivated as we are, working alongside the council and police to put forward solutions and get action taken where it’s needed. Any money raised in sponsorship is put right back into the town. Website & Social Media In a year our website gets over 100k page views and 33k visitors. Our Twitter monthly average reach is 22k, with each post averaging 2-3k. On Facebook we reach 4.5k per month with an average post engagement of 800. All events and achievements are promoted extensively through these channels. See below for more info on the different opportunities available. Several spots are also available to local businesses on our Home Page for a fee. Fill in the form for more info. EVENTS Heritage Day - A national - and international - event, Heritage Day is celebrated on the first weekend in September. All around the world historical buildings open their doors, or events are held, which are free to enter. In Walton we’ve been holding a Heritage Day for over 10 years. This year we’re expanding and moving to Cowey Sale, by Walton Bridge. This expanded site gives us more scope for an increased offering of local stalls promoting charities and sports clubs, as well as a selection of goods for sale. We are inviting local schools and clubs to perform, as well as having a cluster of amusements and the popular Dog Show. Click for more info on sponsorship. Festival of Light - Our annual, famous, Christmas event, held at the end of November. Thousands of local people come out to celebrate the start of the Christmas shopping season and the turning on of the Christmas Lights. The amazing Light Parade is a favourite with everyone. Click for more info on sponsorship. Remembrance Day - A treasured national celebration of remembrance of our troops. The event has been threatened due to fewer police available to marshal and so towns are having to find funds to ensure this ceremony and parade can continue through the years. Proven by renowned American author and American Baseball historian David Block. Ashley Park was the site of the first ever documented game of baseball in the world! YES IN THE WORLD. It was played by the Prince of Wales in 1749 - and the site now has a English Heritage Blue Plaque. To celebrate this momentous occasion Walton Cricket Club, WoTTA and Baseball Softball UK organise a day to remember every year! This has varied positive effects, one of which is to encourage people to come to town more often, and also to see Walton as a more desirable place to live.
