WoTTA meets Weybridge Town Business Group - April 2017
WoTTA MD Joanna Gordon met recently with Sharon Ferrari and Gill Eastwood of Weybridge Town Business Group - formed less than a year ago and with many similar aims to WoTTA.
Sharon and Gill explained how they began their drive to bring people into Weybridge by holding a Party on the Green last June to celebrate the Queen's birthday. After that very successful event they now they hold markets every three months in the town.
Joanna shared tips on working with sports clubs, their local MP and how to use social media to increase attendance at local events. Weybridge Town shared their info on Christmas trees which WoTTA had not be able to organise in 2016. Both groups are keen to work on the floral offerings in the town to make their environments look more beautiful.
With so many common goals it was great to share advice and experiences and both groups hope to meet again in the future. They agreed it would be great to connect with other business groups in Elmbridge, both more informally and also at an Elmbridge Business Network event at the Council..
If you live in the Weybridge area and would like more information about what they are doing and how to get involved check out their website.
